Founder & Principal
Tanya Frey, JD, founded Terra Firma Consulting to help organizations navigate the leadership decisions that define their future. Drawing on extensive experience in executive search, organizational development, governance, and executive advising, she serves as a trusted partner to boards, executive leaders, and mission-driven organizations facing complex people and organizational challenges.
Known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach, Tanya helps clients look beyond immediate decisions to build stronger leadership teams and healthier organizations. Whether leading an executive search, facilitating a board retreat, conducting an independent workplace investigation, or coaching senior leaders through transition, she brings objectivity, discretion, and a deep commitment to each organization’s mission and long-term success.

Abril Ortiz
Operations and Search Associate
Abril brings administrative, operations, and people-support experience across business, community management, sales, and human resources. Before relocating to Memphis, she held administrative and account management roles in Mexico supporting HR, recruitment, payroll, training, personnel administration, and client service. At Terra Firma, Abril supports candidate and client communications, research, and project coordination, bringing a calm, detail-oriented approach that helps ensure successful engagements.
Clarissa Matzke
Marketing and Operations
Clarissa provides operational, administrative, and marketing support across executive search and consulting engagements. She manages candidate communications, coordinates project workflows, and develops client-facing materials that reflect Terra Firma’s commitment to excellence. With a background in elementary education, she brings exceptional organization, thoughtful communication, and a service-oriented approach that helps create a seamless experience for clients, candidates, and partners.
Kiki Van Cleve, J.D.
Legal, Compliance & Workplace Advisory
Kiki is an attorney with experience in healthcare law, corporate counsel, compliance, litigation, contract negotiation, investigations, and risk management. She previously served as Associate Corporate Counsel at Pacific Dental Services and as a Litigation Associate at Hooper, Lundy & Bookman. She earned her J.D. from USC Gould School of Law with a focus on health law and policy. At Terra Firma, Kiki supports workplace investigations, policy review, risk analysis, documentation, and compliance-adjacent advisory work, bringing a practical legal perspective to complex organizational decisions.
